Allen County VINELink Coverage
Kentucky runs VINE as a free automated service for victims and anyone else tracking an inmate. The Kentucky Department of Corrections VINE information page lays this out. Feeds arrive from county jail booking systems, state prisons, mental-health facilities, and some juvenile detention centers. Allen County's own detention center FAQ references VINE. So search Allen County inside the Kentucky deployment. No separate county dashboard exists. There is no Allen SAVIN brand. Results reflect what agencies send. A jail result covers county custody. A DOC result covers the state system. Some people appear in both, and the state FAQ advises registering on both records. Note: The official Kentucky VINE information page displays the statewide service and its current contact route.

This official capture explains custody notification; it does not display or rehost booking photographs.
Check an Allen County Arrest
Begin at the official service. A common name can return several people, and one spelling variation can hide the correct record entirely.
- Open VINELink and choose Kentucky.
- Select “Find an Offender.” Enter a partial name or offender ID. Use the ID when it is known because names can repeat.
- Compare the returned facility, status, and identifiers with facts already known. Do not assume the first name match is correct.
- Open the matching record and note the time of the check. If both local jail and Kentucky DOC records appear, review each separately.
- Register on the matching result when notification is available. For a very new booking that is absent, check Arrests Last 24 Hours and call the jail.
For a booking photo or an older arrest, the Allen County recent-arrests hub fits better. VINELink answers one question: custody status. Its alerts track change notices, not a full case history.
What VINELink Custody Results Show
Fields vary with the agency. Treat any result as a current-status message rather than a complete official file.
| Result field | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Name | Compare spelling and identity details before selecting a record. |
| Offender ID | Use it to distinguish similar names and repeat a search. |
| Custody status | Read as the status reported by the participating system at that time. |
| Facility or location | Distinguish Allen County jail custody from Kentucky DOC custody. |
| Release or transfer | Confirm important changes with the holding or receiving agency. |
| Notification option | Register only on the correct record and retain confirmation details. |
| Photograph | Not promised; VINELink is not a booking-photo source. |
| Court outcome | Not supplied as a certified disposition; use Kentucky courts. |
In custody can cover several situations. A hold before trial, a warrant, or a transfer all look the same on screen. The flip side misleads too. A "not in custody" result can reflect delay, restricted data, a transfer beyond coverage, or a different identifier rather than no arrest at all.
Register for Kentucky Custody Alerts
Signing up costs nothing. Kentucky allows more than one phone number or email. The offender is not told who registered, so choose contacts that will stay available and guard the four-digit PIN.
- Open the correct person’s result and select the notification or registration option.
- Choose an offered contact method, then provide the phone number or email address requested.
- Create the four-digit PIN used to acknowledge telephone notifications.
- Repeat registration for a second local or DOC record if the same person has both.
- Save the record identifier, registration confirmation, and current statewide number, 1-800-511-1670.
Alert calls can repeat during a 24-hour window until the PIN is entered. Attorney General material puts release calls at about 30-minute intervals. State-institution notice may come up to 72 hours ahead. Alerts may cover release, transfer, escape, parole or sentence changes, or court-ordered discharge. Coverage depends on the record. The official VINE FAQ walks through Find an Offender and registration.

The FAQ is the authoritative place to confirm current search and registration steps.
Allen County VINE Phone Conflict
The county jail FAQ prints 800-865-4314 for VINE. Current state materials publish 1-800-511-1670 instead. Treat the statewide number as primary. The FAQ figure looks older or conflicting. That matters because a saved page can steer a caller toward stale instructions. Victim services also sits behind OVS.Help@ky.gov, (502) 564-5061, and toll-free 877-687-6818. Those contacts explain mechanics, but the Allen County Detention Center still confirms immediate local custody.
VINELink Alerts Can Lag
VINE relies on agency data, so delay and outages happen. Kentucky reported one outage from February 3 through February 6, 2026 after false alerts. Service was restored after that stretch. No automated notice should stand alone in a safety or custody decision. When an expected alert never comes, reopen the record. Check the registration too. Call the Allen County Detention Center at (270) 237-3226. Fresh bookings live on the detention-center site. Court dates and dispositions belong to the Allen County Circuit Court Clerk, since the state's VINE availability page notes that VINEcourts ended. The Kentucky VINE availability page also separates custody notices from the discontinued court notifications.

Use Kentucky courts, not VINELink, to establish hearings and final case results.
Custody Systems Are Different
Every system answers a different question. The Allen County jail handles local custody and pretrial booking. KOOL, run by Kentucky DOC, tracks the state-prison population rather than county arrests. VINELink links status and alerts across participating records. Yet it keeps no full history of every booking.
- Booking
- Jail intake after an arrest, when identity, charges, and administrative data are entered.
- Transfer
- Movement from one facility or custody system to another.
- Disposition
- The court’s later outcome, such as dismissal, acquittal, plea, or conviction.
- Custody alert
- An automated notice based on a participating agency’s status update.
Federal custody sits outside Kentucky VINE. Use the Bureau of Prisons locator for federal prison holds. Immigration detention falls to the ICE locator. Neither matches an Allen County roster, and a missing federal result says nothing about status or a detainer.
Confirm Allen County Custody
Need fast confirmation? Call the Allen County Detention Center at (270) 237-3226. The jail sits at 196 Wood Street in Scottsville, KY 42164. Have the person's full name ready. A date of birth or offender identifier speeds the search along. Staff can share only the custody status they are lawfully permitted to confirm, so ask for current status and leave it there.
One wrinkle trips people up. After a release, a name can drop off the current roster even though the underlying booking record still stands. For deeper detail, file a formal records request. That route can yield the booking time, the arresting agency, charges as entered, the release or transfer date, and any booking photograph on file. Note: VINELink registration produces no certified copy and corrects nothing in the source record.
